THE FRESHEST PRODUCE YOU CAN BUY
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) provides community members with the opportunity to partner with a local farmer to receive a share of the freshest locally grown produce throughout different growing seasons. Members provide their farmer with crucial funding to cover the costs of raising their fresh food by paying up front with a subscription for their food. In return, families receive regular boxes of seasonal vegetables, fruits, or farm products like eggs and honey.
What Is Community Supported Agriculture?
CONTRIBUTING TO COMMUNITY HEALTH
By supporting local agriculture, you support strengthening community connections and preserving environment for generations to come. You will have a direct connection to the land and the work done to produce the wonderful food you will enjoy at your table, and you will probably meet some great neighbors. Your food will be straight out of the garden, with no pesticides. Which lowers the carbon footprint used to get the food to your table because there is no trucking of the food to retail stores, packaging, and spoilage.
EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR ALL
Would you like to learn more about growing vegetables and perhaps have your friends and family join in the learning? As your local CSA gets going, you can enjoy the pleasure of seeing your food being grown (if you live nearby) and potentially take part in classes or lend a hand. It's a wonderful way to escape from the pressures of urban life and your everyday work.
